Your Hands and Feet

Your hands and feet are your tools. Your way of influencing the objects around you. Your hands grip and move, your feet support you and propel you along. You need your hands and feet to be in tip top shape if you want to change the world, even in small ways, like moving a pencil or pushing an elevator button. But many hands and feet are suffering and to see it you don't need to hire executive search firms. Toronto, London, New York, Beijing, all over the world hands and feet are being damaged. And why? Because of the effects of the environment.

Hands and feel often take the brunt of environmental damage and that doesn't just mean the wind and sun. Chemicals, abrasives, and harsh temperature changes are also part of our environment. You may think staying inside writing a web collaboration tool on your computer will protect your face and hands, and to some extent it will. You will be avoiding the thorns gardeners get pricked by and the athlete's foot picked up by swimmers on the pool deck. But what about the soap you're using to wash your hands or the glass cleaner you use on your computer screen?

You see, we can't avoid having our hands and feet interact with the environment, and indeed, we shouldn't try to shield them too much because that's what they were designed to do. So before you start taking cash for jewelry because you think wearing a wedding ring is going to irrevocably damage your hands, consider that in this, as in all things, moderation is key. Don't throw out all your cleaning products because their chemicals will damage your skin. Simply wear rubber gloves while using them.

You don't have to abandon the home designs you've been working on for months because you might get a paper cut or stop going barefoot in the house for fear of finding your son's Lego bricks with your instep. Little injuries are part of life and shouldn't prevent us from going about our business. What you can do, however is be sensible. Make sure you are protected by shoes or sandals when going anywhere public like the park or the beach. Put on some gloves or mittens before you use your arm to clear the snow off your windshield.

Damage to your hands and feet is bound to happen, and when it does you don't need to panic. Just like a Halton Hills real estate agent knows that a dilapidated old house can be fixed up with the right help, a spa treatments manager can look at your hands and feet, cracked nails, dry skin and all, and tell you what you need to do to help them heal. Treatments range from moisturization to manicures and pedicures. These procedures can also be performed at home with the help of over-the-counter creams if you know what you're doing.
